What family residence visa means
A Saudi family residence visa allows eligible dependents, usually spouse and children, to live in Saudi Arabia with the sponsor. The sponsor is normally the primary Iqama holder in Saudi Arabia.
WAFID medical requirement
For family residence visa applicants, WAFID medical is generally required for applicants aged 12 years and above. Children below 12 have a different medical requirement, usually involving a polio certificate.
Documents usually needed
Document requirements can vary by case and by VFS instructions. Common documents include passport, visa authorization, photographs, medical fit certificate, family relationship documents and supporting sponsor documents.
Children below 12
For children below 12 years, full medical testing may not be required. A polio certificate may be needed. In practical experience, this certificate may need apostille and Arabic translation before VFS submission.
After medical fit
Once the medical report is fit, continue with the VFS appointment, biometrics where applicable, MOFA linking and visa stamping.
